Guy Eshed, Principal Flutist of the Israel Philharmonic, held the same position with the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino Orchestra, Berlin Staatskapelle, Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra and the Manchester Camerata. He is also Principal Flutist of the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra. In great demand as an orchestral musician, he has played as guest Principal Flutist with the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, Los Angeles Philharmonic, Mahler Chamber Orchestra, London Philharmonic, Bamberg Symphony, Rotterdam Philharmonic and the Orchestra of La Scala. As a soloist, he has appeared in Israel and Europe, including the Salzburg and Lucerne festivals. Guy Eshed is a keen chamber musician and in addition to his work and recordings as a founding member of Ensemble 360, he has participated in major festivals and has played with such renowned artists as Daniel Barenboim, Kirill Gerstein, Elena Bashkirova, Guy Braunstein and The Berlin Philharmonic Soloists. He has recorded for the BBC as well as for Israeli, German and Swedish radio, and has released four CDs. A regular scholarship winner of the America-Israel Cultural Foundation, he won a special excellence grant from the Töpfer Foundation, Hamburg.
