Johane Gonzalez was educated within the Sistema del Orquestas Juveniles e Infantiles de Venezuela as a double bass player. After having studied in Caracas with the great maestro Felix Petit, he went to Spain to continue his double bass studies with maestros Ludwig Streicher and Rainer Zepperitz, always under the guidance of Antonio Garcia Araque at the Escuela Superior de Musica Reina Sofia.
In Europe he was first double bass in the Gustav Mahler Jugend Orchester and later in the Orchestra Mozart of Bologna under the direction of maestro Claudio Abbado. Since then he has combined his role as first double bass of the Orquesta Filarmónica de Gran Canaria with regular appearances in major orchestras such as the Royal Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, first double bass of the Swedish Radio Orchestra in Stockholm, the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, and other renowned orchestras in Germany.
Since 2007 is a member of the Lucerne Festival Orchestra and since 2014 he has been a member of the Mahler Chamber Orchestra.
His interest in education has led him to give classes and courses in Mexico, Colombia, Spain, Italy, Germany, Sweden and Japan.
