Andrea Cellacchi gained international recognition after winning the most important solo competitions for bassoon, including: 2nd Prize at the ARD Competition in Munich, 1st Prize at The Muri Competition, 1st Prize at the IDRS Fox-Gillet Competition, 1st Prize at the Aeolus Competition in Düsseldorf, 1st Prize at the “G. Rossini” Competition in Pesaro. During the same years he focused on his orchestral career, winning Solo Bassoon positions at the Konzerthaus Orchestra Berlin, Luzern Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra Sinfonica Nazionale della Rai di Torino, and Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, which he joined from 2022.
Born in Rome in a musician family, he began his studies at an early age and 16-year-old he graduated in bassoon at the Conservatorio di Musica in Latina. He then continued his path with Francesco Bossone at the Accademia di Santa Cecilia in Rome and with Matthias Rácz at the Hochschule der Künste in Zurich, where he obtained a Master Konzert and a Specialized Master in soloism.
From September 2022, besides his intense concert activities, he is Professor for Bassoon at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam.
