Born in Leipzig in 1971, Jörg Brückner from 1989 to1992 studied at the Hochschule für Musik Franz Liszt Weimar with Prof. R. Heimbuch and Prof. K. Biehlig, and with Prof. Hermann Märker in Leipzig. From1992 to 1997 is 3rd horn in the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra under Kurt Masur; from 1997 to 2008 principal horn of the Dresden Philharmonic; from 2008 to 2019 principal horn of the Munich Philharmonic under the chief conductors Christian Thielemann, Lorin Maazel and Valerie Gergiev.
His biography includes solo concerts with the Munich Philharmonic, the Dresden Philharmonic, the Leipzig Bach Orchestra and the Dresden Chamber Orchestra.
He has been orchestra assistant as solo horn player in the orchestras Berliner Philharmoniker, the Bavarian Radio, the NDR Symphony Orchestra Hamburg, the Orchestra of the Hessian Radio, the Staatskapelle Dresden, the Gewandhaus Orchestra Leipzig, the Orchester National de Paris, Concertgebow Orchestra Amsterdam and the Tonhalle Orchestra Zurich.
Since 2006 he is professor for horn at the University of Music Franz Liszt, Weimar.
